What makes a body lotion natural?

A body lotion is a light emulsion of water and oils that helps keep the skin supple. ‘Natural’ is not legally defined in the EU, so the INCI list shows what a lotion actually contains.

Typical ingredients in our formulas include olive oil (Olea Europaea Fruit Oil), sweet almond oil (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil) and aloe vera (Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice). The order of the INCI list follows the concentration of the ingredients, from highest to lowest, for ingredients above 1%. Ingredient names can be checked in CosIng, the EU database of cosmetic ingredients.

Which body lotion formats suit retailers, hotels and spas?

Retailers usually choose bottles or tubes in standard retail sizes. Hotels and spas often ask for small guest sizes or larger dispensers.

We agree container, closure and fill size with you. Standard packaging generally allows lower starting quantities than custom packaging. The exact options and minimum quantities are stated in the written offer.

What does a body lotion need before it can be sold in the EU?

Every cosmetic product placed on the EU market needs a Responsible Person established in the EU, a Cosmetic Product Safety Report and a notification in the CPNP. The label must show, among other things, the INCI ingredient list, nominal content and durability marking.

These obligations are set out in Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 (EUR-Lex). Products must also be manufactured in line with good manufacturing practice; EN ISO 22716 is the recognised standard for this. Is the body lotion suitable for daily use?

Our body lotions are designed as everyday care products. Specific claims depend on the formula and are only made where they can be documented.

Can I sell the body lotion under my own brand?

Yes. Body lotion is available as private label, with your name, design and choice of scent.

Which documents come with the product?

The INCI list, nominal content, durability information and details of the Responsible Person. Further documents are agreed per project.

How quickly does the body lotion absorb?

That depends on the texture. Light emulsions sink in faster, richer lotions leave a soft film for a little longer. Order samples to compare textures before you decide.

Can I use body lotion on my face?

Body lotion is formulated for the body. For the face we recommend a dedicated face cream, whose texture and fragrance level are designed for facial skin. Always follow the directions on the label.

What does the body lotion smell like?

Fragrance variants are agreed per project, for example with notes of orange blossom or fig, or as an unscented version. Fragrance allergens above the legal thresholds are listed by name on the INCI list.

Is the body lotion suitable for dry skin?

A richer texture with plant oils helps keep dry skin feeling supple. For very dry, itchy or irritated skin, please ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice first.

Is the body lotion vegan?

It depends on the formula. Whether a lotion contains ingredients of animal origin can be seen from the INCI list and is stated in the product information.

Which bottle sizes are available for the body lotion?

Bottles with a pump or flip-top cap and tubes are common options. Retail sizes and smaller formats for hotels are available on request and are confirmed in the offer.

Can I get the safety report and a safety data sheet for the body lotion?

The Cosmetic Product Safety Report is part of the Product Information File kept by the Responsible Person. Which documents you receive – for example the INCI list, a product specification or a safety data sheet for transport and storage – is agreed in the offer.
